I suppose the best way to come out and say something, is just to lay it all out on the line and say it.....so here goes.....    WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!!  We tested on Monday night with a HPT which turned out positive only 5DPFET which was amazing.  I called my Dr. Tuesday first AM, and she was nice enough to allow us to come in Friday the 19th verses waiting until Monday the 22nd, for the blood test to confirm.  Our first Beta (HCG level) was 134 at 9DPFET, which so far is great start.  Our nurse said they like to see at 10DP FET a level of 100, so a 134 and a day early is a really good start and we should be happy.

For those who don't know what those terms mean, quick update:
HPT - home pregnancy test
DPFET  - days past frozen embryo transfer
Beta - blood draw to confirm HCG level
HCG - Human Chorionic Gonadotropin - is a hormone produced by the embryo following implantation.

ou can also refer to the "TTC Dictionary" at the top of the page that I've set up to help those who are trying to understand all the lingo.

We're currently 4 weeks and 2 days, with a forecasted due date of October 28th.
So now here's the tough part - we're "cautiously optimistic" since we've been in this place already twice before, only to have our hearts broken.  We're over the moon, but at the same time I think it'll be a while before things really set in and we're "safe" mentally to really be able to enjoy the news fully.  W
e have a second Beta test on Monday morning which is looking to be sure that the HCG level is doubling every 48 hours, so it's really a day by day thing right now.

We greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for the last several months, or even years in some cases.  We have so many cheerleaders in our corner and it truly is a blessing.....we can never thank everyone enough.  We apologize in advance for not reaching out privately to share the news.  We've had hundreds of people following our journey (family, friends, and even strangers), and thought sharing the news on the blog would be the best thing to do as an update.  Please remember that we're not entirely safe just yet, so   PLEASE k
eep our little miracle in your prayers!!!

    Me In A Nutshell

My name is Kristina and I'm 37.  Originally I'm a Southern CA girl, and I'm now living in  the "burbs" of Chicago.  I love my son, my husband, my family, my fur babies, and my wonderful friends.  I love wine, love to relax, love to have a good time, I'm a little adventurous, love to people watch, and I'm always down for a last minute road trip to virtually anywhere. I'm obsessed with the smell of racing fuel...weird I know - and fresh cut grass! I love to be home, but hate to sit at the house. If I'm excited I get pretty random - sometimes I talk about multiple subjects at once - I'll admit it's probably hard to keep up.  My husband and I battled infertility for 5 years before having a successful pregnancy - our son Colton Charles was born September 30th, 2016, Although we have had success with the birth of Colton, our battle still continues with infertility.  I've learned it's a wonderful & beautiful thing to share with others the journey that we've walked in the world of infertility.  Welcome to our story.
